Great Black and White Photographers pt 3

q.1) Why do I like Eugene Atget's photographs?
I am fond of the warmth and simplicity within Atget's photographs. My favorite picture of his is Versailles, Parc 1901, as depicted below. His images look soft and glazed over, which appeals to me.
The statue looks smooth, and the harsh contrast between her and the hedge still looks soft in spite of the dramatic colour difference.
q.1) I see) If I were present when this photograph was a taken, I would see the beautiful colors of le parc du chateau de versailles. I'd see the detail in the statue, and would definitely be impressed. Seeing the leaves of the hedge blow in the wind would be a beautiful sight.
q.2) I hear) I would hear the leaves of the hedge blow in the wind. That combined with the sound of the magnificent yet simplistic fountains would be very serene.
q.3) I smell) The smell of fresh air would radiate tranquillity. The scent of freshly cut grass and fresh air would waft through the whole park.
q.4) I taste) I really like bread, and I eat baguettes whole without cutting them, so I would probably be inhaling some fresh bread. After I would be done eating it, I'd be dissatisfied with the aftertaste of my baguette.
q.5) I feel) I would feel very tranquil in this scenario. The fresh, crisp air would put me in an ideal state of mind. The camera would most likely feel cold, and I would have my face pressed up against it.

The cone shape the trees take on are satisfying, and the fog in background gives photograph a good sense of depth.
q.1) I see) If I were present when this photograph was taken, I would see the rich green colour of the neatly trimmed trees. The fog in the background would look spooky, and the pathway would look clean and white. The sky would be a grey-blue colour
q.2) I hear) I wouldn't hear much if I were in this scenario. This photograph gives off a quiet feeling. Maybe a few people scattered across the park would be chattering. I would hear a slight breeze and possibly a dog barking from the other side of the property.
q.3) I smell) I would smell wet gravel if I were present in this scenario. I feel like this part of the park would smell like flowers. Maybe I would smell the rain.
q.4) I taste) I would probably be eating again. Clares would taste really good in this setting. This seems like the ideal hot-chocolate drinking location.
q.5) I feel)  I'd probably get the chocolate from my Clare all over my finger and that would leave me very frustrated. It looks like it had been raining, so maybe my socks would be wet. Wet socks is never pleasant feeling. The cold air would nip at my fingers.

Prompt Shoot II

Prompt Shoot #2 PURPLE This was the brightest I could get this photo because I took it in a dark corner. I did have to turn the ISO up quite a bit, which resulted in some grain, but not too much. The cable creates a nice S-curve  and the baseboards make decently straight lines. I made sure to keep it as simple as possible. This photo is 'purple' because the wall in the background is a calming cool toned purple. ELECTRIC   I wanted this photograph to be underexposed so that the pink looks rich. The darkness also fits the sleepy mood of the styrofoam heads. The heads and the desk that they are on create nice diagonal lines , and everything is well balanced. This photo is 'electric' because the cherry pink wig is prominent as opposed to all other elements in this photograph. COLD This photograph is perfectly exposed in my opinion. A lot of light was seeping through the window because it was mid-day. The rule of thirds is implied in this photo, as well as lin...

"The Camera History and Basic Functions"

"The Camera History and Basic Functions" 1. Explain the “camera obscura” effect. How is it achieved? In c. 500 B.C.E, Chinese and Greek philosophers discovered the "camera  obscure" effect. They found that when light is focused through a tiny hole in a wall, the scene is projects on another close by surface, upside down. 2. What invention during the 17th Century helped man get a step closer to creating the modern camera? Once Isaac newton and Christian Huygens perfected optics, they were able to make extremely high-quality lenses. 3. What were the parts of the first modern camera invented by Niepce? Niepce created the film camera. To body of the camera was a box, it also had a glass lens, and film. 4.  What do modern digital cameras have in common with Niepce’s camera? Light passes through the lens into the camera and exposes the film 5. What do digital cameras use to capture an image? Digital cameras use an electro...
