Prompt Shoot #1

METAL
This photo and the following one symbolize "metal." Metal can be associated with anger and fear, which are two emotions the sculpture expresses. The light coming from the left gives the picture a sense of motion, it seems like it is pushing the prop forwards and to the right. I dislike the black blob in the bottom right corner, and would move it if I were to retake this image.
METAL 2
The prop looks into the distance but not at the camera, which makes for an interesting image. This picture would be very static if it wasn't for the Dutch angle. I should have taken the photo from a higher angle to make the overall feel of the picture more dramatic, which would better display "metal."
BOWIE
A lot of kids eat lunch at these tables, and of course the kids that sit there go to Bowie. The shadows from the two chairs look messy, so I should have taken the photo from a different angle to achieve a cleaner effect. My camera has a setting where I can "shoot low-key photos," so I chose that to make the photograph look clean and dark. This way, the contrast of the light and shadows are dramatic.
SQUARE
Several squares and rectangles appear in this photograph of a metal chair. I don't like the shadow of the tree leaves in the back of the image because it distracts from the centre point of my picture. The chair could not have been moved back any farther because it was attached to a chain. I could have stood on another chair and take the photo from above and behind, but I do not know if the shadows from the chair would look as nice from a different angle.
HAPPY
To me, plants are happy looking little things because of their green colour and their somewhat droopy leaves. This image is low contrast, which I enjoy because instead of being drawn to one point in the image, you are looking at the entire picture. The date stamp in the bottom corner gives the picture a more "retro" vibe, and the orange looks great with all the green shades.

Prompt Shoot II

Prompt Shoot #2 PURPLE This was the brightest I could get this photo because I took it in a dark corner. I did have to turn the ISO up quite a bit, which resulted in some grain, but not too much. The cable creates a nice S-curve  and the baseboards make decently straight lines. I made sure to keep it as simple as possible. This photo is 'purple' because the wall in the background is a calming cool toned purple. ELECTRIC   I wanted this photograph to be underexposed so that the pink looks rich. The darkness also fits the sleepy mood of the styrofoam heads. The heads and the desk that they are on create nice diagonal lines , and everything is well balanced. This photo is 'electric' because the cherry pink wig is prominent as opposed to all other elements in this photograph. COLD This photograph is perfectly exposed in my opinion. A lot of light was seeping through the window because it was mid-day. The rule of thirds is implied in this photo, as well as lin...

"The Camera History and Basic Functions"

"The Camera History and Basic Functions" 1. Explain the “camera obscura” effect. How is it achieved? In c. 500 B.C.E, Chinese and Greek philosophers discovered the "camera  obscure" effect. They found that when light is focused through a tiny hole in a wall, the scene is projects on another close by surface, upside down. 2. What invention during the 17th Century helped man get a step closer to creating the modern camera? Once Isaac newton and Christian Huygens perfected optics, they were able to make extremely high-quality lenses. 3. What were the parts of the first modern camera invented by Niepce? Niepce created the film camera. To body of the camera was a box, it also had a glass lens, and film. 4.  What do modern digital cameras have in common with Niepce’s camera? Light passes through the lens into the camera and exposes the film 5. What do digital cameras use to capture an image? Digital cameras use an electro...
