Student of the Month Story

Malorie Beller Wins Student of the Month at Bowie High School

Star student Malorie Beller claimed the "Student of the Month" title this March at James Bowie High School. Beller worked extremely hard to achieve this award, but the award and its benefits proves her had work worthwhile. Beller is well deserving of her title and those who nominated her were in agreement.

Bowie's star student shows that through hard work and determination, one can achieve any goal they set their mind to. Beller won this award by getting good grades and fully committing to her extracurricular activities, even if it meant sacrificing her free time.

"I do not have that much free time every day because right when I get home, I have to go to swim practice, and then right after that, I have to do my homework," Beller said.

Although beller has to give up some valued free time, she likes what she does. Beller understands that by involving herself in extracurriculars, she can further enhance her learning experience and become smarter than she already is.

"[Extracurriculars] show that you care about that subject and want to learn more about that subject," Beller said.

This proves Beller's sheer academic determination because she is willing to give up other day-to-day activities, in support of her academics, showing that the road to becoming the student of the month isn't all that pretty. Despite her little free time, Beller excels in not only her extracurricular activities but also shows outstanding performance in her core classes.

"I get my work done when needed and I perform well in Science and... English and focus in class," Beller Said.

Clearly, Bowie's star student has a high drive to succeed. Beller also does good in social settings, and so much so that her teachers consider her as one of their favourites. Beller also considers herself a teachers' pet, and rightfully so.

"For some teachers yes, but I think that since Bowie is such a big school... I'm not like that anymore,"
Beller said.

Beller is very humble for someone who has achieved a lot of success in only her first year of high school. She receives a lot of acknowledgement but makes sure she stays grounded. Beller continues to excel in all academic fields and is determined to win Student of the Month every month.

"Don't procrastinate, get your work done. Find time to do it," Beller said.

Prompt Shoot II

Prompt Shoot #2 PURPLE This was the brightest I could get this photo because I took it in a dark corner. I did have to turn the ISO up quite a bit, which resulted in some grain, but not too much. The cable creates a nice S-curve  and the baseboards make decently straight lines. I made sure to keep it as simple as possible. This photo is 'purple' because the wall in the background is a calming cool toned purple. ELECTRIC   I wanted this photograph to be underexposed so that the pink looks rich. The darkness also fits the sleepy mood of the styrofoam heads. The heads and the desk that they are on create nice diagonal lines , and everything is well balanced. This photo is 'electric' because the cherry pink wig is prominent as opposed to all other elements in this photograph. COLD This photograph is perfectly exposed in my opinion. A lot of light was seeping through the window because it was mid-day. The rule of thirds is implied in this photo, as well as lin...

"The Camera History and Basic Functions"

"The Camera History and Basic Functions" 1. Explain the “camera obscura” effect. How is it achieved? In c. 500 B.C.E, Chinese and Greek philosophers discovered the "camera  obscure" effect. They found that when light is focused through a tiny hole in a wall, the scene is projects on another close by surface, upside down. 2. What invention during the 17th Century helped man get a step closer to creating the modern camera? Once Isaac newton and Christian Huygens perfected optics, they were able to make extremely high-quality lenses. 3. What were the parts of the first modern camera invented by Niepce? Niepce created the film camera. To body of the camera was a box, it also had a glass lens, and film. 4.  What do modern digital cameras have in common with Niepce’s camera? Light passes through the lens into the camera and exposes the film 5. What do digital cameras use to capture an image? Digital cameras use an electro...
