Magazines Pt. II

description of the main attributes of the covers (P1), the relationship between words and photo (P2)

There are four types of magazine styles: image based, illustration based, type based and concept Based. In an image-based magazine cover, the main focus is/are the model/models. Chances are, the more popular and liked the celebrity is in the public eye, the more covers the company will sell. The perfect example of a more retro approach is an illustration based magazine. They have to be original (alike any cover), and most of the time, deliver a political message or humorous tones. Next is concept based covers. Concept-based covers can be a mixture of all magazine styles. They have to be immediately understood and simple, yet creative and deep. Lastly is the rarest approach: type based covers. These consist of only typed characters and when executed correctly, type based covers can be jaw-dropping and intriguing.
The relationship between the words and the photograph on a magazine cover is significant because blending the characters with the subject, or having them in contrast with the topic makes for an intriguing, aesthetically pleasing cover. Therefore, more people will buy them, hence an increase in profit.

The cable creates a nice S-curve  and the baseboards make decently straight lines. I made sure to keep it as simple as possible. This photo is 'purple' because the wall in the background is a calming cool toned purple. ELECTRIC   I wanted this photograph to be underexposed so that the pink looks rich. The darkness also fits the sleepy mood of the styrofoam heads. The heads and the desk that they are on create nice diagonal lines , and everything is well balanced. This photo is 'electric' because the cherry pink wig is prominent as opposed to all other elements in this photograph. COLD This photograph is perfectly exposed in my opinion. A lot of light was seeping through the window because it was mid-day. The rule of thirds is implied in this photo, as well as lin...
