Funny Captions

"OuT of ConTrOL" Elanor makes a scene at the mall in the early afternoon by sitting on a table that is clearly out of bounds, and clearly, only "out of control" people can sit there. Elanor's grandkids stripped her of her cane and put her up there, and she can't get down on her own. Elanor loves attention more than her grandchildren. "Man Refuses to Be Late to Breakfast With Wife" James Theodore rips through the 101 on his scooter early in the morning because he is on his way to meet his wife, Helen, for breakfast. Mr. Theodore's car broke down on the highway, and since no one had jumper cables, he abandoned it and whipped out his speedy scooter. This man will. do anything for his wife. "The Mysterious John Bowen" John Bowen tears through Drift Road on his scooter, bare naked, during a high-speed chase with the FBI. Bowen forgot to clear his search history and didn't browse with incognito mode on, and after s...

The Rules of Photography continued

Prompt Shoot II

Prompt Shoot #2 PURPLE This was the brightest I could get this photo because I took it in a dark corner. I did have to turn the ISO up quite a bit, which resulted in some grain, but not too much. The cable creates a nice S-curve  and the baseboards make decently straight lines. I made sure to keep it as simple as possible. This photo is 'purple' because the wall in the background is a calming cool toned purple. ELECTRIC   I wanted this photograph to be underexposed so that the pink looks rich. The darkness also fits the sleepy mood of the styrofoam heads. The heads and the desk that they are on create nice diagonal lines , and everything is well balanced. This photo is 'electric' because the cherry pink wig is prominent as opposed to all other elements in this photograph. COLD This photograph is perfectly exposed in my opinion. A lot of light was seeping through the window because it was mid-day. The rule of thirds is implied in this photo, as well as lin...

Top 100 Photos Assignment

why did you pick the image 2-3 sentencesTell summarising the photo. tell me what you learned by clicking on an additional link look up the photographer. post their picture from the web and another one taken by them list authors name, birth, and death year, where were they born, the school they went to 1. Philippe Kahn This photo is important because, with the invention of cell phone cameras, a new age of photography was introduced. Philippe Kahn snapped this image of his newborn baby while stuck at a Northern Carolina maternity. He was outside the hospital room where his wife was giving birth, so in the meantime, he created a device with which he could send a photo of Sophie to their family immediately after her birth. How Kahn set up his software: Kahn synced his camera and cell phone by connecting them to his laptop using a USB cable, and by writing a few lines of code. Another work by Philippe Kahn: In the image above, Kahn shows the camera a selfie he took via f...

Mural Project Preview

1. Think of at least three ideas you have about what your team could take photos of, that are in the same theme? Be creative, but be realistic. You will be shooting OFF campus, and every member of your team will need to be able to take similar photos or whatever you decide to do as a group. My team and I could take pictures of downtown Austin. There's always some event going on there and it's never not busy. We could shoot at a museum of American history, or some street art made by local artists. 2. You will be using the school cameras or your own similar camera. You will need to shoot in Manual. What are three things you will have to think about when you are out shooting? Keep in mind  aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. 3. Although we have always done this assignment as a paper/printed product. I am interested in being able to show off these images/creations/murals online. What are some ideas you have on how to get these pieces onto the internet? List three ide...

Extra Ciricular Assignment

1. On your blog post your reactions to what you read and what you saw. How about 3-4 sentences. I am impressed with Brandt's many talents and how quickly he could transition between film directing and photography. I find it interesting that his photos can capture the soul of Africa's wild animals with his use of contrast and placing. His photos are very dramatic and I enjoy their simplicity. 2. Do a  google image  search for Nick Brandt, find your favorite photo and post it on your blog.         I think this is one of my favourite photographs, let alone it being one of Brandt's. (3) This black and white picture is very soft and exotic looking. The mist from the photo gives the image a 'glazed over' look, while the rocks up close and the trees in the  distance add some sharpness. (4) The most obvious composition of photography present in this photograph are lines . It is important to incor...
